Design Engineer

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced System Design Engineer to join our Home Automation Team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing home automation solutions based on project specifications received from our sales team. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and excellent communication skills to ensure that our clients receive the most efficient and tailored solutions.

• Design and Specification:

 Receive project specifications from the sales team and design home automation systems based on client and sales team inputs.

 Select the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most efficient solution.

• Documentation and Handover:

Prepare all required drawings and schedules of the project to enable subsequent hand-off to operations.

 Participate in sales to operations handover meetings to evaluate the accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout.

Ensure the job folder is organized and maintained, including all pertinent job-related information.

• Technical Support:

Act as a technical resource for the team and customers as needed.

Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.

• Custom Solutions:

Create unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements.

 Design home automation solutions for large and/or complex homes, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, and sequence of operations.

• Graphics and Visualization:

Oversee the creation of graphics

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, although an Associate's Degree/Certification in AutoCAD or other engineering drawing tools along with equivalent experience, will also be considered.

  Minimum of 1-3 years of engineering experience preferred.

  Strong knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations required.

  Proficiency in AutoCAD skills is preferred

  Fully proficient and independent design skills.

  Ability to design medium to large jobs with deviations from standard tools, products, or practices as needed.

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
