Job Overview

creating functional, safe, and beautiful indoor spaces by conceptualizing designs, selecting materials/furnishings, preparing plans (including blueprints/3D models), managing budgets/timelines, coordinating with contractors/clients, and ensuring compliance with building codes to meet client needs and project goals. Key duties include client consultation, space planning, sourcing products, creating presentations (mood boards), overseeing installations, and ensuring projects meet aesthetic and regulatory standards. 

Key Responsibilities

• Client & Concept Development: Meet with clients to understand needs, develop design concepts, and create mood boards.
• Design & Documentation: Sketch plans, create detailed drawings (floor plans, elevations), and use design software (like AutoCAD) for 2D/3D visualizations.
• Material & Product Selection: Specify and source furniture, lighting, finishes, and fixtures, managing orders and budgets.
• Project Management: Set timelines, estimate costs, manage project phases, and coordinate with architects, builders, and trades.
• Site Supervision: Conduct site visits to ensure designs are implemented correctly and inspect the final result.
• Compliance: Adhere to building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• Creativity: Artistic vision, imagination, and problem-solving skills.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, 3D modeling) and knowledge of building codes.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
