Job Summary

  • HVAC Sales role involves driving revenue by finding clients, assessing their heating/cooling needs (residential or commercial), designing solutions (systems, upgrades, maintenance), presenting proposals, negotiating, and closing deals, while collaborating with installation teams and staying updated on tech, requiring strong communication, technical understanding, and sales skills. Key tasks include lead generation, site visits, creating quotes, and CRM management, often involving frequent travel. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead Generation & Client Management: Find new leads (cold calling, networking, referrals) and build strong relationships with existing clients.
    • Needs Assessment: Conduct on-site consultations to understand customer requirements for HVAC systems, upgrades, or maintenance.
    • Solution Design & Proposal: Design system solutions, calculate heat loads, prepare accurate quotes, and present proposals highlighting benefits.
    • Sales Closing: Negotiate contracts, close deals, and manage the sales process from start to finish.
    • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance, educate clients on energy efficiency, and collaborate with engineering/install teams.
    • Market Knowledge: Stay current with HVAC technology, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
    • Admin & Reporting: Maintain detailed records in CRM and track sales activities. 

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Proven sales experience (HVAC or related field preferred) with a track record of meeting targets.
    • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, products, and basic load calculations.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time, and handle multiple projects.
    • Proficiency with CRM software. 

     

    Typical Experience Level:

    • Ranges from entry-level (counter sales) to experienced Sales Engineers or Managers, often requiring 3-5+ years in sales or technical sales.
