Job Overview

Cashier processes customer transactions, handles payments (cash, credit, checks), and manages the Point of Sale (POS) system, including scanning items and issuing receipts. They ensure accurate cash management, provide customer service, maintain clean checkout areas, and handle returns. Key skills include math proficiency, accuracy, and strong communication

Key Responsibilities

• Transaction Processing: Accurately scan, weigh, or enter items into the POS system.
• Payment Handling: Collect cash, process credit/debit cards, and issue change/receipts.
• Cash Management: Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, answer inquiries, and resolve customer complaints, returns, or exchanges.
• Checkout Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked checkout area.
• Security & Policy: Follow all company protocols, including verifying identification for age-restricted purchases (e.g., alcohol, tobacco)

• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling cash and inventory.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with POS systems, scanners, and cash registers.
• Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience is often preferred, but not always required
