Junior System Administrator

Job Overview

Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and support operating systems and business applications

- Assist in managing desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware

- Support user account creation, password reset, permissions, and access management

- Monitor system health, server availability, and basic network performance

- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, email, VPN, and network-related issues

- Assist in system updates, antivirus updates, and routine security checks

- Support firewall administration and network monitoring activities

- Assist in configuring LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity

- Support basic cloud operations on platforms such as:

   a) Microsoft Azure o Amazon Web Services (AWS)

   b) Assist in managing virtual machines, backups, and cloud resources

   c) Support Microsoft 365 administration including:

   d) User creation and license assignment

   e) Password reset and MFA setup

   f) Mailbox management

   g) Distribution groups and shared mailboxes

   h) Basic Exchange Online and Teams administration

- Assist in managing:

   a) Active Directory

   b) Group Policies

   c) File sharing and access permissions

- Monitor backup jobs and assist in disaster recovery activities

- Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and third-party support teams when required

- Maintain IT asset inventory and technical documentation

- Provide technical support to end users

- Follow organizational IT security policies and standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Required Skills

  - Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems

  - Basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory

  - Basic networking knowledge:

     a) TCP/IP

     b) DNS

     c) DHCP

     d) VPN

     e) LAN/WAN

  - Basic understanding of firewall concepts and troubleshooting

  - Understanding of antivirus and endpoint security concepts

  - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as:

     a) Microsoft Azure

     b) Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  - Basic understanding of:

     a) Virtual Machines

     b) Storage management

     c) User access management

  - Basic knowledge of:

     a) Microsoft 365

     b) Exchange Online

     c) Microsoft Teams

     d) SharePoint basics

  - Basic understanding of virtualization technologies:

     a) VMware

     b) Hyper-V

  - Knowledge of ticketing systems or monitoring tools will be an added advantage

  Preferred Certification (Optional)

  - Microsoft Certified Fundamentals

  - AWS / Azure Cloud Practitioner

  - Cisco CCNA

  - ITIL Foundation

  - Basic cybersecurity certifications Qualification

  Note :

  - Any bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical field is preferred.
