Network Support Engineer

Job Overview

Core responsibilities

• Support and troubleshooting: Provide technical assistance to end users, troubleshoot network connectivity issues, and resolve hardware or software problems.
• Network maintenance: Monitor network performance, manage network equipment (like routers and switches), and install updates and patches.
• Security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect the network, including managing firewalls and VPNs.
• Configuration and installation: Configure and install network devices and equipment, and assist in deploying new network infrastructure. 

Technical skills and qualifications

• Proficiency with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and 802.11.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of network security principles and tools.
• Experience with cloud networking platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is often a plus.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is often preferred.
