Job Title: Junior Accountant

Department: Finance and Accounts

Reports To: Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager

Job Purpose: To provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. The successful candidate will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Ledger & Journal Maintenance

   - Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.

   - Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.


2. Accounts Payable and Receivable

   - Update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and immediately available when needed.

   - Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.

   - Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.

   - Assist with accounts receivable and issue invoices.

   - Process accounts payable, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of information and that payments are made.


3. Reconciliations

   - Reconcile the accounts payable/receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

   - Assist with the reconciliation of bank statements.


4. Audit Support

   - Support monthly and yearly audits and clean-ups.

   - Assist with other accounting projects as needed.


5. Tax Related Tasks

   - Assist in preparing VAT or other tax returns as necessary.


6. Document Management

   - Maintain and file documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.


Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.

2. Proven experience as a junior accountant is an advantage, but fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

3. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.

4. Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

5. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

6. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

7. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel).

8. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

9. Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
