Instructions for completing and sending the application

The candidate seeking admission to the CTET is required:-

i) To go through the Information Bulletin carefully and acquaint with all the requirements;
ii) To satisfy eligibility to appear in the examination;
iii) To send the application on the prescribed Application Form complete in all respect or submit it on-line;
iv) To write complete mailing address with Postal Pin Code in the Application Form in the capital letters only;
v) To fill in the Application Form in own handwriting in CAPITAL LETTERS in English only, using blue/black ball point pen, within the prescribed boxes. Use blue/black ball point for darkening the appropriate circle(s) also.
vi) OVERWRITING, CUTTINGS, ERASINGS IN THE APPLICATION FORM AND INCOMPLETE FORM MAY LEAD TO REJECTION OF FORM AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED. ANY ERROR ARISING ON THIS ACCOUNT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATE.
vii) If a candidate submits more than one Application Form, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled and the candidate debarred for future examination(s). No communication will be sent in this regards.
viii) Application Form should be filled in as follows :

(a) Sl. Nos. 1, 2 & 3 of the Application Form :- Candidate should write his/her name, Mother's name, Father's name/ Husband's name (in case of married woman) in CAPITAL letters. Only one letter should be filled in one box as shown below. One box should be left blank between each part of the name. Before filling in the Application Form, write on a plain paper and verify the correctness of spellings.

Note : For Sl. Nos. 4 to 15 of the Application Form : Write appropriate Code and darken the appropriate circle as applicable. In case of discrepancy in written code and darkened circle, code written in the box(es) shall be taken as final without any correspondence.

(b) Sl. Nos. 4 of the Application Form: Choice of Examination Centres cities. Provide three options of Examination Centers cities in order of preference from where you wish to appear for the test.(Refer Examination Centres cities)
(c) Sl. Nos. 5 of the Application Form: Date of Birth. Provide Date of Birth as per English calendar and as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ University Certificate. Use numerals 01 to 31 for the date, 01 to 12 for the month and last two digits for the year of birth as shown below.

(d) Sl. Nos. 6 of the Application Form: Languages Offered for CTET.
Provide two languages in which you wish to appear for CTET. List of languages offered are :

Language I : Shall focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instructions. Candidate is required to select any one from above Languages.
Language II : Shall focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehensive abilities. Candidate is required to select any one from above Language. Language II has to be different from Language I.

(e) Sl. Nos. 7 of the Application Form: Question Paper Medium.
Question Paper shall be supplied in English or Hindi as per choice of the candidate.

(f) Sl. Nos. 8 of the Application Form: Applying for

Provide 1 for Male and 2 for Female

(h) Sl. Nos. 10 of the Application Form: Nationality
Provide 1 for Indian and 2 for Foreign

(i) Sl. Nos. 11 of the Application Form: Category
Provide 1 for General, 2 for SC, 3 for ST and 4 for OBC

(j) Sl. Nos. 12 of the Application Form: If Differently Abled
Provide 1 if Differently abled and 2 if not.

(k) Sl. Nos. 13 of the Application Form: Minimum Educational Qualifications for teaching Classes I to V and VI to VIII
Candidate must possess among following Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming teacher for Classes I to V and VI to VIII.

(A) Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming teacher for Classes I-V

Note: (i) Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc./Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates.
(ii) For this year only, with BA/B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and B.Ed qualification shall also be eligible for test for classes I to V provided he/she undergoes, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6-month special program in Elementary Education.

(B) Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming teacher for Classes VI-VIII

* A diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
Note: Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc./Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates.
Note : None of the above shall not be eligible for appearing in Central Teacher Eligibility Test
(l) Sl. Nos. 14 of the Application Form: Subjects Offered for Paper-2
If you intent to apply for becoming teacher for classes VI to VIII, you have to provide the choice of subject in which you wish to appear for Paper-2.
Provide 1 if you wish to offer Mathematics & Science
Provide 2 if you wish to offer Social Studies
(m) Sl. Nos. 15 of the Application Form: Status of Qualifying Exam
Provide 1 if Qualifying Exam passed and 2 if Appearing in Final Exam.
(n) Sl. Nos. 16 of the Application Form: Left Hand Thumb Impression
The candidate should affix left hand thumb impression failing which the application form will be cancelled.
(o) Sl. Nos. 17 of the Application Form: STD Code with Telephone No./ Mobile No.
Provide STD Code & Telephone No. or Mobile Telephone No.
(p) Sl. Nos. 18 of the Application Form: Candidate's mailing address in CAPITAL letters only
Write your name and complete mailing address in CAPITAL letters including PIN CODE at which you wish to receive the communication.
(q) Candidate should sign in running hand within the box only and should affix unattested recent photograph within the space provided in the Application Form.
The Application Form duly filled in should be sent by Registered/Speed Post only (NOT BY COURIER) to

in the printed envelope supplied by the Board so as to reach positively by 15.05.2011 in the CBSE office. The Application Form will not be received personally in any case.

The candidate must retain a photocopy of his/her filled in Application Form for future correspondence, if required.

Note : 7 days grace time i.e. up to 22.05.2011 for receipt of Application Form will be allowed to the candidates belonging to remote areas viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi sub division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep.
